We have all enjoyed a fantastic summer and enjoyed more sunny days this year than last. Our hope for a late Indian summer is probably not going to happen now as we enter the month of October. We can only say that the end of the sailing season is now drawing to a close.

Many of you will be thinking of winter storage. Useful advice is perhaps to make sure that all your canvas covers are folded away or stored dry, as wet canvas will encourage the growth of mildew and mould. If your covers are staying up on the boat all winter, make sure the boat is not placed under trees as the autumn leaves will fall on the covers encouraging damp and wet conditions, which will cause the growth of algae which can be hard to clean.

It may be a good idea to have your boat covers cleaned before storing. Tecsew offers professional wash and reproof service for your boat covers for competitive prices. We can either take the covers off for you on the boat locally, or we can pick the covers up from the local marina offices.
