A Sail Cover is not to be confused with a Stackpack. With a Sail Cover, the sail is draped over the boom and hangs below.

In comparison, a Stackpack works with Lazyjacks and keeps the sail stored on top of the boom with the Lazyjacks, making easy work of packing away the sail.

However, Stackpacks remain in place on the boom when sailing and as such is not often specified on a racing boat, making Sail Covers the typically preferred option.
